Hello Dear Reader,
Welcome to the Trust1Connector solution evolution, corrections, modifications blog! Here we discuss what's new in the version 3.8.10. We know that you are all dreaming about your summer holiday. A bit less calls at the helpdesk really would be great to start the summer! Well Trust1Team would like to contribute to this.
Enjoy reading !
Version 3.8.10 is primarily a stability, security, and deployment improvement release. Users should notice:
✅ Easier installation
✅ Automatic certificate management
✅ Faster startup times
✅ Fewer crashes and errors
✅ Better Windows and macOS compatibility
✅ More reliable file handling
✅ Improved logging and troubleshooting
✅ Simpler deployment for enterprise IT teams
Overall, the release significantly reduces manual setup and improves reliability across all supported platforms.
Please note that this version works together with the SDK 3.8.11. This version of the SDK is backwards compatible with versions v3.7.15 - v3.8.10 but mandatory. No changes are required in the configuration of the t1c-sdk-js.
What’s New?
Automatic Security Certificates
Previously, certificate management could be complex. Now, Trust1Connector automatically creates and manages all the security certificates it needs.
What this means for users:
No manual certificate setup.
Browsers automatically trust the connection.
Certificates renew themselves when needed.
Old certificates are automatically removed and replaced.
In simple terms: the software now handles its own security setup behind the scenes.
Shared Certificates Across All T1C Applications
If multiple T1C applications are installed on the same computer:
They now share one set of certificates.
Only one root certificate is created.
Uninstalling one application won't break the others.
In simple terms: Less duplication, fewer certificate conflicts, and easier maintenance.
Faster Startup
Previously, the connector could sometimes wait for external services before becoming available.
Now:
The connector starts immediately.
Background synchronisation happens separately.
Slow or unavailable services no longer prevent startup.
In simple terms: Users can start using the connector faster and are less likely to experience startup delays.
Improved File Exchange Reliability
Several issues in the file exchange functionality were fixed:
Required configuration files are automatically created.
Deleting missing items no longer causes errors.
File lists are sorted consistently.
Better error handling prevents crashes.
In simple terms: File exchange operations are more stable and predictable.
Better Network Drive Support
The system now properly handles:
Network drives
Shared folders
Paths containing spaces
without requiring manual workarounds.
In simple terms: Fewer problems when working with files stored on company network shares.
Fewer Application Crashes
Many parts of the software were rewritten to handle errors gracefully instead of crashing.
Examples include:
File operations
Certificate handling
Background services
System startup processes
In simple terms: The connector is much more resilient when something goes wrong.
Windows Improvements
Easier Browser Trust Setup
The installer now automatically:
Installs the required root certificate.
Makes Chrome, Edge, and Firefox trust the connector.
Avoids security warnings related to untrusted certificates.
In simple terms: Users no longer need to perform manual certificate installation.
Automatic Installation of Microsoft Runtime Files
The installer now checks for and installs required Microsoft Visual C++ components automatically.
In simple terms: Prevents common errors such as: "VCRUNTIME140.dll is missing"
Cleaner Upgrades and Uninstalls
Before upgrading or uninstalling:
Running T1C processes are automatically stopped.
Locked files are released.
Upgrade failures due to files being in use are avoided.
In simple terms: Smoother upgrades with fewer support incidents.
macOS Improvements
For Apple computers:
Rosetta 2 is installed automatically when needed.
Smart card reader compatibility fixes are applied automatically on newer macOS versions.
These actions occur only once.
In simple terms: Improved compatibility on Apple Silicon (M-series) Macs.
Better Logging and Troubleshooting
Logging is now enabled by default.
A log file is automatically created and stored locally.
In simple terms: Support teams can diagnose issues much faster.
Installer Improvements
The installer now:
Automatically installs prerequisites.
Cleans up old files correctly.
Detects required Microsoft tools automatically during builds.
Supports silent enterprise deployments more reliably.
In simple terms: Easier deployment for IT administrators.
